Fighting Allergy Season Like a Pro is a sponsored blog post written in partnership with CVS Health. All opinions are my own. I chose the topics and products to share for all my posts and am happy to share my experience with you.

This year, I’ve found that my allergies have been the worst ever. This allergy season has been rocking my world. After a flight from LA to Fort Lauderdale, I was not able to hear for a week due to sinus pressure from allergies. It was insane! I have been dealing with allergies all my life and have put together a guide on fighting allergy season like a pro! Let’s beat these allergies together! What do you say?!

First, let’s talk about the allergy medicine options! There are so many these days and they might seem like they all do the same thing. I am here to let you know that there are differences in allergy medicines. Most allergy medicines are antihistamine based and might cause drowsiness. I prefer to avoid the ones that cause drowsiness as I don’t have time for sleepiness! The ones that are more likely to cause drowsiness are Diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine. Other allergy meds like Loratadine and Cetirizine are considered non-sedating antihistamines. They are not supposed to put you to sleep. Although, Cetirizine makes my sister sleepy. Your best bet is to try out different products to see what works best for you.

For me, Cetirizine is fast acting and works the best on my allergies. If I am having allergies in the evening before bed, I will take Diphenhydramine. They all work on my normal allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itchy watery eyes, and itchy throat.

CVS recently started selling CVS Health Fluticasone Nasal Spray. I am so excited to use it. It provides 24 hour relief from nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy nose, and sneezing. My dad loves using this allergy prevention method. He convinced me to give it a try and I love it! All of these amazing allergy meds can be purchased at CVS for a fraction of the brand name’s prices. CVS Health makes dealing with allergies much easier!

The best way to combat allergy season like a pro with this on the go allergy kit. It includes everything from tissues, allergy medicine, eye drops, nasal spray, and antibacterial moist wipes. I usually keep this in my purse or travel bag just in case I have a flare up. I started putting it in a soup box several years ago because it is keeps any leakage inside so that nothing explodes in my purse. I also like to keep water on hand so that I can take my allergy meds at anytime. Also, sunglasses just in case my sinuses are swollen and my eyes are extremely puffy. I like to hum, “I wear my sunglasses at night” when I wear the sunglasses indoors.
