Spring 2014 Fashionable Colors

Every season, Pantone releases a series of colors that become a big hit in the design and fashion worlds (you can see the post I created last spring about the chosen Pantone colors). This season, their colors are both soft and vibrant, and a great way to inspire any girl’s wardrobe. In their collection, they included soft pastels like Violet Tulip, Placid Blue and Hemlock (a lovely light green). They incorporated a neutral color, Sand, which is reminiscent of beautiful sandy beaches. Colors like Freesia (yellow), Celosia Orange and Cayenne (red), are feisty and festive and sure way to get you longing for the warm summer sun. Finally, Dazzling Blue and Radiant Orchid (like my prescription glasses) are funky bold colors added to the mix to make the collection pop!

The fashion world has long looked to Pantone to understand color trends and adapt to the evolving styles of fashionistas everywhere! While some people love to wear color, others opt for subtle pieces that add a pop of excitement. In the selection of items I’ve picked, you’ll notice I came across different ways to include colors in your wardrobe. From fun accessories at Henri Bendel, to fab plus size clothing from One Stop Plus, there is something for everyone! If you’re more adventurous and willing to get creative, incorporate Pantone colors into your makeup either through eye shadow, lips or even nails! Sephora actually has a complete collection of Pantone colors that vary every season. I personally love using color in my accessories, be it with my jewellery or shoes. I think it’s a fun and great way to be unique and set yourself apart from everyone else!

Just from these few items, so many different looks can be created. Layer a bold shirt with a subtle cardigan, or throw on some neutral flats with colored denim and a basic tee. Put on some vivid lipstick to compliment a lovely dress, or wear a striking scarf for those chilly evenings. The ways to incorporate colors are endless!
