The holiday season is upon us and we have been hosting tons of parties at our house. It has been about 1 per week lately. Everyone wants to visit us during the winter time since we have such wonderful weather. Entertaining every week has me getting creative with my spreads. This week, I decided to entertain with a bacon bar with help of my awesome sponsor Smithfield.

My guests and husband were extremely impressed by the set up and all the various bacon recipes. I was given so many compliments thatI felt like I was floating after the party. This was especially nice because it was really easy to host. Smithfield Bacon Bar site makes it simple to host without having to think too much about planning. I used a few of the recipes on the site and the printables to label each type of food. Printable labels make the bacon bar feel more customized. I printed them as the bacon was cooking in the oven and cut them out right after I put the food out using glue dots to adhere them to the glasses. Love those glue dots! They are life savers.

I started by following the directions on the Smithfield Bacon Bar website by baking the bacon on cookie sheets. It was nice not having to hover over the stove. I made Applewood Bacon, Low Sodium, Thick Cut, and Homestyle Bacon. The Sea Salt Caramel recipe was a huge hit.

I decided to make my Bacon Bar fancy using my new champagne glasses and cake plate for the Bacon Cheddar Biscuits. I found the recipe for Bacon Cheddar Biscuits on Smithfield Bacon Bar site. They are scrumptious!

Then, I filled small glasses with orange juice for each of my guests and put the bottle of Orange Juice into bowl filled with ice.

  1. I have to go with Crispy Bacon Twists with Gouda and Apricot Preserves. Bacon and cheese with the sweetness of the apricot would be amazing!

  3. Bacon Cheddar Biscuits. (I have teenage boys at home. Ever watch “The Beverly Hillbillies?” My boys could give Jethro Bodine a run for his money/supper.)

  7. Caramelized Bourbon Bacon:

    Ingredients:
    2 Tablespoons honey
    1/4 cup bourbon
1 16 oz. package Smithfield Thick Cut Bacon
    2 Tablespoons maple syrup

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line 2 baking pans with parchment
paper. Remove bacon from package and space evenly without overlapping
    slices.

    2. Place pans in oven and bake 15 minutes. Rotate pans halfway through
baking time. Remove from oven. Carefully drain grease from pans.

    3. Brush bacon with bourbon/maple syrup/honey mixture. Return to oven
and bake 3-5 minutes. Let cool slightly and serve immediately.
