There’s nothing more delicious than French Toast Sticks for breakfast, except for French Toast Sticks! French Toast Sticks are the breakfast we all know and love but with a twist, instead of cooking the whole bread slice you cut it into strips and cook them. In result, they absorb a lot more of the deliciousness and have more surface for sugar and syrups.

I especially love this recipe because it’s incredibly versatile! You can keep things classic and make it with eggs and milk or make it vegan using a mixture of almond milk (or any vegetable milk) and maple syrup (or agave syrup). Both options are incredibly delicious and just as easy to make.

I also love that you can top them with almost anything you have in your fridge. Since the French Toast Sticks are not overly sweet or overly cinnamony you can top them with berries and maple syrup (like I did), chocolate, nuts, whipped cream, bananas, coconut and tropical fruits, or you know with all of them if you are feeling extra indulgent.

It’s also a great food for the little ones since they can grab one stick and have fun with it for a while. You can dress up this breakfast, serving it in nice dishes, or dress it a down for an everyday breakfast or dinner when the day is crazy hectic.

I started this recipe with sandwich bread, then I cut it into 4 sticks. Once all the bread was ready I dunked it in the milk and egg mixture and until it was coated. I oiled the pan and placed all the strips there over medium heat. About 3 minutes later, I flipped them and let them cook for another 3 minutes or until golden brown.

Then just serve, add the toppings and as much syrup as you can.
