Lavender Lemon Tartlet Recipe

Do you ever wake up in the morning craving something tart? It happened to me today and decided to make something new! I love my Lemon Tartlet Recipe, but I decided to go beyond the lemon tartlet today and try it with lavender. Never be boring, right? Who knew that Lemon and Lavender taste amazing together!?

This cute little lavender lemon tartlet recipe is a mini version of a tart. It is much more fun to say tartlet than just tart!

Health Benefits of Lavender

I added lavender to my lemon tartlets because of the amazing health benefits. Lavender is said to help provide relief from chronic pain, inflamed tissues, arthritis, insomnia, high anxiety, mood swings, gastrointestinal upset, tension, skin irritation, and headaches. (learn more here). I could use help in all these areas so lavender is always an awesome ingredient to add to any dish.

Health Benefits of Lemon

Lemon also has amazing health properties including cancer-fighting properties.  It also said to help prevent diabetes, constipation, high blood pressure, fever, and indigestion. Lemon is also said to improve hair, skin, and teeth. This is not surprising considering all the vitamins and mineral in lemons: vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin E, vitamin A, folate, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, and protein.

When cool, you can scoop/spoon the chilled filling into the shells OR an alternate way is to spoon the filling into a sandwich bag, close the top and snip a small corner at the bottom to “pipe” the filling into the shells. (Less messy that way.) Return the shells to the fridge and cool until ready to serve. To serve, lightly garnish the tops of the tarts with the lavender buds.
