Salted Caramel Football Rice Krispies

Football season is upon us and here is an awesome sweet treat for your guests. Try making these super cute Salted Caramel Football Rice Krispies. They are super cute and no one that loves football can resist salted caramel rice Krispies.

With the Super Bowl around the corner, I decided to make a that these Salted Caramel Football Rice Krispies that are fun desserts for the party. I love making the food appealing for both the eye and tummy especially when guests are coming over. The party display for Super Bowl is always fun. I like to grab a football tablecloth to protect the table from the mess. Also, to make the clean up even easier, I pick up football platesgreen silverware, and stripe ref napkins. You can also get creative with these football scrapbook sheets.

Rice Crispy Treats Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
Two 10 oz. bags of mini marshmallows
10 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
12 oz bag of caramels
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
Sea Salt
Wilton white icing tube

Directions

1.   Spray a 9 x 9 pan with Pam and set aside.
2.   In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
3.   Add the marshmallows, stirring constantly until melted.
4.   Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from heat.
5.   Using a rubber spatula, transfer the cereal mixture to the prepared pan and press down firmly and evenly.
6.   Allow the Rice Krispies to cool in the pan completely.
Football treats 7.   Once cooled, use a football-shaped cookie cutter to cut out football shapes.


 

Melting Caramel

8.   Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Place the footballs on the lined baking sheet and prepare salted caramel sauce.
9.   In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, add the caramels, butter, and milk. Stir occasionally until melted.

 

 

10.  Remove caramel sauce from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

 

 

 

11.  Ice each Rice Krispies football with the caramel sauce.
12.  Sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top of the caramel footballs.
13.  With a Wilson white icing tube, pipe the laces of each of the Football Rice Krispies.
14.  Let the salted caramel rice Krispies set for 5-10 minutes.

These are adorable and a SUPER idea for the big game, but I think you need to correct your recipe steps (you missed adding the cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture – one version has reference to sent from my iphone). Also, the ingredients look like a double batch of rice krispie treats and I would think putting all that in a 9×9 pan would yield a MUCH thicker football than those shown in the pictures…
