Spring brings a whole new world of things to say Yes (“Sí”) to. Backyard dinners? Yes, Sí Please! A late afternoon walk? Yes!!! All this extra time, better weather, and daylight gives more time to spend together outdoors. I have been working tirelessly to get the backyard up to my high standards so that we can spend as much time as possible outdoors this year. My spring fling outdoor dining is made 100 times better with amazing wine from Ribera y Rueda.

This week we had an amazing dinner of lamb lollipops which we paired with the Ribera Tempranillo. My husband opened the bottle and let it breath for around 10-15 minutes before trying our first sip. It was worth the small wait!

For 2,000+ years, winemakers from Ribera and Rueda (NW Spain about an hour from Madrid) have cultivated what’s new and what’s next in every vineyard and vintage. They produce Rueda Verdejos (white grape varietal) are bright, crisp and creative, and Ribera del Duero Tempranillos (red grape varietal) are bold, rugged and ripe.

Ribera y Rueda wines are all about popping open a bottle for an outdoor soirée, a night on the couch or an unexpected food pairing – Ribera y Rueda wines say Sí to it all!

I am partial to white wine, so I saved the Rueda Verdejo for a nice walk around the lake. We broke out our plastic wine glasses so that there would be no issues with breakage. It’s always nice to have those on hand so you can drink with ease and style outdoors. The Rueda Verdejo is best served chilled, so we put it in an iced cooler bag.
