  8. Episode 4–somehow I can watch it over and over again. I think, of the larger story line he originally wrote, it’s the bit he really wanted to tell.

  9. The original first episode is my favorite and all of my family’s favorite because it is where these great movies began and the first of a series is almost always the best one!!

  10. Episode IV: A New Hope. I can’t really explain why. I just think the story line truly starts with that movie and provides so much more background than Episode 1. The soundtrack is my favorite.

  11. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope is my favorite because I watched it as a child when it first came out in the Movie Theater in 1977 with my friends and it was the most amazing movie I had ever seen. I also think that it has the best story of all the episodes.

  12. The original! I got to see a robotic Yoda Toy at a press event last week and I was talking to the rep I still have my action figures from my childhood all in their special collectors edition box, they are out of reach so my nephews won’t see them! If I won this, I would be Auntie of the year on weekends and game night with my family and friends! I entered, thanks for the chance!

  13. Wow tough question. Episode 3 has the best light saber battle ever!! Episode 6 is fantastic because of the beginning when they are going to be executed by Jabba and then Luke saves the day, that whole sequence is amazing, I often go back and repeat it. I am also very partial to 6 because I saw it on opening day when I was in high school and it was just an amazing experience to watch it with so many other fans. We laughed, we cried, we cheered, it was spectacular!!

  27. Episode 1 because that’s when the story began! I think the first episode is always the best! My 6 year old grandson that lives with me LOVES Star Wars and this would make his Christmas the best! He would be so happy to open this on Christmas morning!

  28. My favorite episode is the original: Star Wars! It’s my favorite because it’s when I was first introduced to a science fiction film and its when I fell in love with R2D2 for the first time! ☺

  29. The original “Star Wars” was the best. It was truly an historic film, and was the primary “force” behind my future interest in the science fiction genre.

  30. The original Star Wars film was by far one of my favorites.. “A long time ago in a galaxy far way..” This was the beginning of a great film. It is just as great today as it was in those days. My second favorite would be Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Love this episode. This episode sums it all up. It tells exactly how and why the characters became to be who they are now, or actually who they were in the original film. The introduction of Jar Jar Binks was brilliant. He was hilarious. I also love how Yoda, my favorite character of course, sums it up in one poetic verse the power of fear and how it can destroy character, love, and relationships not just for one person but many…”Fear is the pathway to the dark side, Fear leads to anger, Anger leads to hate, Hate leads to suffering.”

  31. I was 11 when the original movie came out. Perfect age! There had been nothing like it before! The FX were amazing compared to the scifi that we had and I was enthralled! The first one will always remain my favorite because of that.

  32. Episode 6 because the effects looks better.
There is a limit to what “special” effects can do in movies before it looks fake.

  33. The very first Star Wars movie (renamed Star Wars Episide IV: A New Hope) is my favorite. The effects were groundbreaking for their time (my time haha) and I was enthralled and thrilled with that movie.

    Reply
  34. Episode Five because off Hoth! The scene where the Millennium Falcon escapes just seconds before Darth Vader enters the hanger is just the best!

  35. I don’t have a favorite, and I couldn’t keep them straight if I tried, but I love Jar-Jar Binks! So I like the newer episodes a little more than the old I guess!

  39. Episode IV: A New Hope. I was just a kid when I went to see it. I still remember it vividly. It was the first time I was swept away by every part of a movie. I talked about it non-stop for weeks to anyone who would listen.

  40. Episode IV … the first Star Wars movie….we actually saw it TWICE in the theater (unheard of in our family at the time!) It was so ground-breaking and all of those characters are still beloved today!

  55. The Empire Strikes Back. I fell in love with the Star ships in that one. Their movements seemed so real in comparison to the first movie. Great story.

  56. I have to say the Star Wars: Episode IV because it was the first movie I saw. I had watched pieces of the movie but not the entire movie until I was turned into the franchise by my then boyfriend. I knew and understood the movie. It was a bonding experience I now share with my brother, nephew, and other friends.
