Ingredients

Crust

  • Cup flour
  • 2 Tbsps sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • ½ Cold butter stick
  • 4 Tbsps ice cold water

Filling

  • 7 Apples sliced
  • ¼ Cup butter
  • ¼ Cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 Tsp allspice
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 Tbsps water

Topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 370 degrees F. Grease a pie dish and set aside.
  • In a bowl combine all the crust ingredients and mix until getting a thick dough. Press into the pie dish and bake for 15 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • While the crust bakes, caramelize the apple slices, butter, vanilla, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, allspice, lemon juice, and water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes until the apples are tender.
  • Remove the pie dish from the oven and let it cool down for 5 minutes.
  • Fill the pie crust.
  • In another bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour with your hands to obtain the crumbles for the topping. Top the apple pie with it.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until done.
  • For the sugar glaze, mix the confectioner’s sugar and heavy cream until obtaining the desired consistency.
  • Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool down.
  • Drizzle the sugar glaze on top.
  • Serve and enjoy.
