Thanksgiving Stuffing Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 Package Johnsonville® Mild Ground Italian Sausage
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion diced
  • All-purpose flour for dusting
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornmeal
  • 10 ounces herb seasoned stuffing cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Stick the pizza stone on the top rack to pre-heat.
  • Start by making the stuffing. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add in diced onions.
  • Cook and stir 5-10 minutes longer, until sausage is no longer pink and onions are translucent.
  • Cook 1 cup of the onion and sausage mixture for another 5 minutes and keep for on top of the pizza.
  • In a large bowl combine the stuffing cubes and sausage mixture. Stir in 1 cups broth, 2 eggs beaten, and 1/2 cup fresh parsley.
  • Toss to combine and spoon into a greased sprayed pan 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • While the stuffing is baking, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch round on a floured surface.
  • Take the warmed pizza stone out of the oven, dust with1/2 teaspoon cornmeal and put the dough on top. Put the dough in the oven for 5 minutes.
  • Now, lay a thin layer of stuffing over the pizza pie.
  • Put in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Take out of the oven and add 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup parmesan cheese.
  • Sprinkle sausage and onion you set aside earlier all over the pizza with 1/4 cup of parsley.
  • Bake for another 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
