  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup onion diced
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup mozzarella shredded
  • 1 cup ricotta
  • ½ cup parmesan
  • 8 oz pasta penne
  • 2 Cup beef broth


  • In an oven safe skillet or pot, brown the onions and ground beef until cooked through. 
  • Season with garlic, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
  • Add the tomatoes and tomato sauce, and mix well. 
  • Add the pasta along with water/beef broth. 
  • Cover and let simmer for approximately 10 – 12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through.
  • Turn the oven to broil. Add HALF of the mozzarella and all of the parmesan. 
  • Stir until melted, and then sprinkle the remaining half cup of mozzarella over the top. 
  • With a spoon, dollop the ricotta over the top of the dish as well.
  • Broil for about 3-4 minutes OR until the cheese is melted.
