A few weeks ago, I went to see Lenny Kravitz live in Wynwood, Miami. During the show, Walmart Soundcheck was taping the live performance. Episode 1 of the performance just went live today! It was awesome to get down to his songs in person and now I get to do it in my living room with my daughter. We usually spend a few hours daily dancing. Today we were rocking out to Lenny’s new album, Strut.
We also watched Episode 1 on #WMSoundcheck. There was an in-depth interview with Lenny Kravitz talking about his inspiration for his new album, Miami, and his upcoming tour. He also performs with his sexy and well dressed band one of teh songs from his new album, Let Love Rule, The Chamber.
He was inspired to make this album while he was filming, Catching Fire. That makes me want to really pay attention to the songs to see if I can find any subtle Hunger Games references! You guys know how crazy I am about the Hunger Games! I went all out for Halloween and was Effie Trinket.
I am loving Walmart’s Souncheck platform so much! I feel like I am getting to know the artists on the site. Every month they feature an artist-of-the-month. This month they are featuring Lenny Kravitz. They have 3 episodes release weekly with brand new songs. Last month, they featured, Magic!

Lenny Kravitz is amazing. He was my favorite artist back in the 90s. I’m glad to see him on the map again. He’s just got this great swag about him. He was the guitarist I wanted to be when I grew up.
It’s so cool that Lenny was inspired for the album while filming Hunger Games- I hope his character made it out of the last film! I have been listening to his music since high school and will definitely be picking up this album!
