This week my husband and I started working on our tax return and realized that have a decent tax return coming to them in the next few months. That is when I came up with the idea for a post that helps your spend your tax return. My husband would say save it or spend it on a home improvement, like finishing up the backyard or replacing our closet doors. There is so much to do; I couldn’t even write you a list!
While discussing saving money, my husband and started discussing cutting costs. Last time, we were cutting costs we renegotiated the cable and internet bill down to a manageable monthly fee. This time we started talking about cutting our monthly phone bills down. That is when I remembered the gift I got for my mom for last Christmas. I found the Samsung Galaxy Avant for $149.00 and the Walmart Family Mobile plan for $29.88 per month!! This is for the Walmart Family Mobile’s NEW 4G LTE service for Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan that includes up to 500MB of 4G LTE data.
Obviously, I am super excited about saving an $80 (yes…I was paying $110 for my service) per month to be spent on what I truly love…fashion! We might not be getting a tax return along with the rest of you, but this is just as good! I am converting my old ridiculous phone bill into nearly $1000 worth of clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry! Are you as excited as I am? I already ordered this jumpsuit and started the hunt for a reasonably priced version of those shoes.
Now that I told you how I will be spending my tax return and Walmart Family Mobile savings, tell me what you will be spending your tax return on this year.
Spend your tax money wisely and slowly.
Great ways to spend it. We are saving and putting towards a new home! I would love to have a shopping spree though!
When my daughter is old enough for a cell phone, I’ll definitely be using our tax return to buy it. In the meantime, it goes to bills and savings.
That is a sweet way to save on your monthly costs! I’d totally be up for spending the money we save on our phone bill on clothes too!
My tax return is my vacation fund 🙂 We have a few fun trips planned this year!
I think a jumpsuit and a phone are excellent ways to spend part of the tax return. =D
My tax refund is mainly going for my husbands student loan bills. We want to pay one of them off completely so that we only have one left. I can’t wait to be down to one student loan bills of his. Going to be nice! I’m sure we’ll also plan to use some of it to take my daughters out to the movies or do something fun.
We are moving from Arizona to Alaska in May so that is where all of our return will be going!
A new phone would definitely be a great way to spend my tax refund. I have been considering it – provided I get one, of course.
I could really use a new phone. I am hoping i have enough to get a new one.
We’ll be spending out tax return on vacation! FL here we come!
I hope we can save ours…..that is what we REALLY NEED to do!!! I would feel better to have a little money put away for a rainy day!!
It’s time for us to update our phone plan and that is exactly what we are thinking so thank you for the tip. And funny you also gave a fashion tip because I need jewelry to match my wedding gown!

I love the shoes, the purse and the bracelet. I would love to buy all those!
We will be spending our tax return fixing up the house. I
would love to have a shopping spree though!
Now that I’ve had my baby I need a good healthy budget for a great new wardrobe. Switching my mobile plan over would surely free up that extra income each month to help me clothe my post-baby body.
Great idea on cutting your phone costs!
