This summer I am all about hydration. The only way to keep your hair, skin and body healthy during the summer months is to up your liquid intake. So much water is lost when it is hot outside. I put together this yummy recipe with Emergen-C packet and my two favorite fruits for a boost of immune support.
I added Mangos because of their health benefits and, of course because I have a tree in my front yard (meaning I have an almost unlimited supply at the moment). Mangos consist of vitamin C; vitamin A; vitamin B6 plus other B vitamins; probiotic fibre; copper; potassium; magnesium; iron; and calcium.
I chose to make my smoothie with half milk and half coconut water for the flavor as well as the health benefit. Milk and Coconut water together give you calcium and tons of potassium. I need a heap load of both during the summer months especially.
I started my morning every day this week with this recipe. I notice that it made me feel more energetic throughout the day. Like most of Moms or really any women on the go, I need as much energy and immune support as I can get.
Coconut Mango Emergen-C Smoothie
Ingredients
Emergen-C Tangerine Packet
1 mango, pureed
1 cup milk or coconut water (or 1/2 cup of each)
1 cup Dasani Water
2 cups ice
Instructions
Peel and puree the mango in a blender.
Add in the milk and 1 cup of ice.
Add in the water and 1 cup of ice with the Emergen-C Tangerine Packet.
I found the Emergen-C and several of the ingredients in Walgreens this week. There is a promotion going on at Walgreens in June. You can Buy 1 Emergen-C 30ct and get 1 Dasani 1 Liter FREE. You get more vitamin C from Emergen-C than 10 oranges and 7 B vitamins that enhance energy naturally without caffeine.
