H&M Opening Outfit
Last week I had a blast attending the Grand Opening of world wide brand H&M at Miami International Mall! Along with other Miami-based bloggers, I was treated to a wonderful breakfast as I shopped the aisles of fantastic, fabulous fashion!
Outside the store, shoppers were lined up alongside hours before it’s official grand opening to the public to be the first to experience this collaborative brand of Hennes & Mauritz. Even the employees of H&M gathered in front of the store cheering and dancing as part of the celebration, further making this particular grand opening special.
And, now H&M is leading the industry as an eco-friendly and extremely conscious company… And, because fashion should never go to waste, H&M has launched their global initiative as the first company in the world to prevent fashion from ending up in landfills, allowing customers to hand in unwanted garments – from any brand and in any condition – to H&M stores. What does this mean to you? It means for each bag of donated clothing to any H&M store in the US, you’ll receive a voucher with a discount off your next purchase. Find your local store here: www.hm.com/longlivefashion.
Your used duds are then shipped to the nearest processing plant, graded, and hand-sorted. The goal here is “Zero” waste. Any used garments that are too worn and/or torn to be reused will be recycled and converted into raw materials and new products. “When rewear, reuse, and recycle are not options, textiles are used to produce energy”. “At H&M, we have set ourselves the challenge of ultimately making fashion sustainable and sustainability fashionable. We want to help people express their personality and feel proud of what they wear. I’m very excited to see the progress we’ve made so far and how this will help us to make you an even better offer – and create a more sustainable fashion future”, says Karl-Johan Persson, CEO.
All I can say is that I am in love with this season’s collection, and I’m sure you will be too. The printed pants and fitted denim jackets particularly vied for my attention. I had a very difficult time choosing just one outfit for this post; I really hope you like it!
