This year my hubby and I headed to Oregon for a wedding. It was much chillier than I am used to, but the wedding and the evergreens and roses were worth the trip. The wedding was something out of a magazine hosted at Atticus Vineyard named after famed lawyer Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mocking Bird. I decided to wear a Donna Ricc0 black velvet gown with a black pashmina from White House Black Market. You know I have a velvet obsession!
I also wore flip flops as I did not want to ruin my shoes in the grass. I probably should have worn the platforms that I brought with me to Oregon, but I wore them all day before the wedding and caused a nice blister on the bottom of my foot. If I had worn those platforms, I would have been hobbling all over the dance floor.
In order to spice up the velvet gown, I wore a statement necklace from Ann Taylor Loft. I love the mix of gunmetal and gold together. Mixing metal is not only accepted in fashion now, it is preferred! I like mixing metals so much that I actually bought 2 necklaces from Ann Taylor with gold and pewter mix. The other necklace is long and has gotten more use than this statement necklace. Statement necklaces are awesome, but you have to make sure that they are not too heavy. This one is not too heavy, but it is pushing the scale!
What do you think of the winter wedding outfit?
Thanks!
