My desk and office have a tendency to get extremely messy. It has something to do with constant stream of boxes coming into the house. It basically becomes a box room that does not lend itself to creativity. Since it is back to school time, I wanted to make the room more manageable so that the creative juices will flow freely.
As part of my business, it is also extremely important to keep track of deadline. I have put together a tutorial on how I keep track of things. I have a google calendar that I normally use to keep everything organized and so I don’t miss calls, events or deadlines. Google calendars allow you to make multiple calendars that you can display one universal calendar. I have them calendars color coordinated into these categories:
Content Due Dates – Blue
To Do List – Red/Orange
Events & Calls – Turquoise
Social Shares – Purple
Family – Green
I decided to make a paper version of this calendar that I can write into a calendar. There is something about writing that makes my creative juices flow. I used the same color coding system from my online calendar in my new paper planner. Here is my system. You can see what other bloggers have come up with here on the social hub.
I bought everything for this Organizing Tips post from Target this weekend. They have a great selection of cute desk stuff. How adorable are these Pilot G2 Pens and the pen cup. Save $0.75 on any ONE 4-pack (or larger) of G2 Gel Ink pens HERE. Did you know Pilot G2 Pens are America’s #1 selling gel ink brand? G2 has been proven to write longer than all other gel brands, so finally there is a pen that works as hard as you do!

Great organizing ideas! I use a similar method and it works great!
Pinned and tweeted!

Color coding completely saves me. I have my blog and business planner, my household wall calendar, and my phone’s calendar. All of them are color coded. FYI, you are the second blog I have read that is doing this sponsored campaign and you are the second blog to link to a coupon I cannot find. 🙁 (visiting from Idea Box Thursday)
I am sorry about that! Working on getting it fixed.
Very good tips, thanks for sharing. I use the calendar all the time as it helps me organize my plans and keep them in mind. Usually for calendar printing, I use a very good and convenient site, I can share with you
