Tomorrow is labor day and I plan to wear white jeans to work on Tuesday in direct protest to the fashion rule forbidding this. The origins of this rule are debatable, but most people agree that it has something to do with the end of summer. Labor day is a reminder to put away leisure-wear and pull out your dark fall wardrobe. First off, I live in Florida and summer does not end on Labor Day. The heat persists until late September. Second, white is no longer considered just leisure-wear. It is as neutral as denim and can be worn with nearly everything. After all, Coco Chanel wore her white suite year round. If Coco can pull it off, who am I to argue. White jeans can easily go from summer to fall with a change in fabric weight.
