Disney Princesses are pretty awesome and if you are planning a Disney Princess party or just a Disney themed party, this No Sew Disney Princess TuTu DIY is for you. I divided the instructions into pre-party and during party instructions to make it easier to host the party. I chose tulle in princess and villain type colors like: red  (Minnie Mouse and Cruella Deville), pink (Sleeping Beauty or ), Light Blue/Green (The Little Mermaid), Yellow (Mulan, Belle, Snow White), Light Blue (Cinderella) and Black (Ursula and Maleficent).

Supplies and Tools for No Sew Disney Princess TuTus

  1. 6 Yards of Tule for every guest that will be making a tutu.
  2. At least 1 small spool of ribbon per guest making the No Sew Disney Princess TuTu. (The rule is double the waist. I bough one of those packs of ribbon with a ton of different colored polka dot ribbon. It was $12.99. Best Deal I could find and the size of each ribbon worked out perfectly. No cutting needed.)
  3. Scissors. (You can pre-cut the strips of fabric before hand so this project is easier at the party and so that the kids don’t have to be around scissors.)
  4. Gift Bags so that your guest can transport their new tutu.

Party Prep Instructions for No Sew Disney Princess TuTus

  1. Cut out tulle strips into about 1 1/2 inch thick strips and if was wrapped around the bolt twice, then I would the pieces in half.
  2. Put a basket together containing all the ribbons, whether they are spooled or not.
  3. Keep the different color of tulle separated in gift bags and keep only 1 or 2 pieces of tulle out to let your guest choose a color. Bring out the gift bag filled with the tulle in their color of choice when it is time to start crafting.

Party Instructions for No Sew Disney Princess TuTus

  1. Show your guests how to wrap the tulle around the ribbon. Take one strip at a time and form an “upside-down” U shape. Place the “upside-down” U piece of tulle behind the waistband. Make sure the ends are even and then put the 2 ends on top of the waistband and through the opening between the top of the tulle U and the waistband. Pull tightly.
  2. Instruct your guest to tie the ribbon around their leg so that it is loose and so they can add the tulle more easily than if the ribbon was free. Instruct the guest to add all your tulle pieces in their color of choice until the waistband is full. Slide the tulle pieces together so they are close and no distances are showing between them.
  3. At the end, show them how to tie the tutu around them and bow it in the back.

  1. So adorable! I made 3 tutus for my 3 granddaughters and a friend’s granddaughter and they loved them. They don’t take that long to make and they are great for dress-up!
