Affordable BBQ Decoration Ideas
I love using ribbon to make simple things to make a BBQ Backyard Bash extra special. I save ribbons from all of the the shopping bags and gifts I receive so I always have little pieces of ribbon and string on hand for projects like this. Also, anytime I see a ribbon that I like on sale, I buy it to add to my ribbon box.
I added the ribbons to the Dr Pepper bottles to attach the straws for a special custom feel for the guests. It was extremely easy. I wrapped the ribbon around the neck and made a bow with a little extra room so that I could slide the straw in after I tied the bow.
To make the snack size bags of Cheez-Its extra special for the BBQ Bash, I added a little bow tie to each package with thicker ribbon. It is very easy as well. All you need is ribbon, scissors and a stapler. First, you wrap the bow around the package to a little passed the center of the package. Then, continue to wrap around so that the ribbon goes all the way around the package. Next, pinch the cent of the ribbon and staple the pieces together. Last, cut off the excess ribbon. You can also use the ribbons as bracelets during the party or as a little favor for your guests.
Since our BBQ Backyard Bash was also a pool party, I bought a Coleman mini cooler to sit right next to the pool so that my guests could grab refreshments without having to get out of the water. We went shopping as family and found all the goodies at Walmart.
You can wrap Christmas lights around the trunks of your trees for mood lighting a Backyard Bash that goes into the evening. Stay with the white lights unless you are decorating for a patriotic holiday like Fourth of July, Labor Day, or Memorial Day.
I made Dr Pepper Floats with Vanilla Ice Cream and garnished with cookies for the party. You can get other Dr Pepper recipes and craft ideas from the Dr Pepper Tumblr. That is where I got the idea for the Dr Pepper float. I garnished with a chocolate cookie and a red striped straw for fun. These little details don’t cost much, but they are awesome ways to make your party extra special.
After a few hours in the pool, of course it started to rain. The family hung out and took lots of pictures.
