A Migraine Headache is probably the worst thing I have ever experienced. Migraine Headaches usually only lasts a day for me, but that usually means an entire has been wasted in pain hiding in a dark room with a pillow over my face.
The last time I had a migraine headache, I was home with my toddler and my husband couldn’t take off work because he had just started a new job and didn’t have any days to take off. My migraine headaches come with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound. Luckily, my daughter was pretty cool about being home with me and watched TV as mommy buried her head under a pillow for 8 hours while Daddy was at work.
Even though my migraine headache was awful, I feel lucky that it isn’t much worse. My mother in law has been dealing with Migraines daily since July 2015. I feel so sorry for her. I cannot even imagine dealing with those types of migraines and for that period. My heart goes out to her.
My migraine usually comes after eating something that I allergic to. For me, I have noticed that some foods and drinks cause Migraines for me. In the past, even a half a glass of red wine will give me a migraine headache. I also notice that if I am stressed or if I lose sleep, I might get a migraine afterwards. Stress usually causes me to lose sleep, so it is all linked together for me. Since I have started to pinpointing what causes migraine headaches for me, I have started avoiding those triggers. I wish I could avoid stress the way I can avoid red wine, but of course, stress is not always something you can avoid.
Nearly 36 million Americans suffer from migraines, and About 18% of American women and 6% of men suffer from a migraine. As you can see from the numbers, women deal with migraine headaches more often than men do. Learn more about Migraine Headaches HERE.
