Have you seen the Book of Life?! It is one of my most favorite movies that my daughter also loves! The story, animation, and music make it a pleasure to watch with her! She was ecstatic when I told her we would be making Book of Life Flower Headbands for a craft and movie night! As it gets cooler outside, I love setting up my projector so we can watch movies outside. I also printed out some coloring sheets for my daughter so we could color and play with The Book of Life crafts that I posted last year when I first saw the movie.
The Book of Life was written and directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro. The characters venture to the Land of the Remembered and embrace the rich culture and family history brought to life by the all-star voice cast of Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Ron Perlman, Kate del Castillo, Christina Applegate and Ice Cube.
The Day of Dead (aka Día de Muertos) is multi-day holiday focused on gatherings of family and friends to remember friends and family members who have died and help support their spiritual journey. Some culture calls it, All Saints Day or All Souls Day. The Mexican Day of the Dead celebration is similar to other culture’s observances of a time to honor the dead. The Spanish tradition included festivals and parades, as well as gatherings of families at cemeteries to pray for their deceased loved ones at the end of the day.

Thick Fabric Scraps
Instructions
Start by removing the fake flowers from their stems.
You want to make a free pattern of red, yellow, and orange flowers.
Heat up the Hot Glue Gun.
Use the glue gun to put the flowers on the headband.
If neccessary, use thick scraps of fabric to reinforce the flowers onto the headband.
Let the Glue Dry.
Use the hot glue gun to stick the puffy stickers.
