Runway fashion always inspires my nail looks. I have been noticing that mint was shown on the Spring 2013 runways like Valentino, Claire Pettibone, and Donna Karen. Using Pinterest, I have collected minty spring trend inspiration on to my Spring Trends Pinterest Board. GiGi New York came out with an entire collection of embossed python leather bags and accessories that are on my wish list. I purchased a pair of mint skinny jeans that I was wearing non-stop until my belly got too big for non-maternity jeans. Since I cannot wear the skinny jeans for the time being, I have to fill my wardrobe with mint in other ways. First, I bought my Kate Spade polka dot iPhone cover and now I purchased Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Mint Sorbet Nail Polish.
Runway Inspired Spring Nail Trend with Sally Hansen
I got the idea for the splash of metallic from Harper’s Bazaar’s coverage of the nail polish runway trends. Monika Chiang showed a coral nail with a silver stripe down the middle on its spring 2013 runway. Instead of mimicking the exact nail, I mixed the mint color trend with the flash of metallic nail polish trend. It was simple to complete, as I was not trying for all of the nails to be the same. Even if I was trying for uniformity, there is no way I could have done that on my own. That is why manicurists exist. I try to limit my trips to the nail salon by buying polishes at Walgreens. Using the Balance Rewards card, I am able to get rewards for all my Walgreens purchases. The rewards card and the free shipping for orders over $25 makes shopping on the Walgreens website a no brainer. There is also BOGO going on that give 50% on Insta Dri and Salon Effects at Walgreens that runs until 3/30/13. If you buy 2 between 3/10-3/16, you will get 2,000 balance reward points!!!
