This Apple Cinnamon Buns Pie is the dessert that you need to make this Holiday season. It has everything a good fall and winter dessert should have. It’s spicy, it’s hot, it’s packed with a ton of spices, it’s crunchy, and has the perfect dose of apples and deliciousness.
Seriously friend, this taste like good decisions and parties and best of all? It’s a total crowd favorite! Even though I love to create new dessert recipes, I find myself making it year after year! I think it is because my friends keep asking for it.
In my opinion, the best thing about this apple cinnamon buns pie is that it tastes like if a cinnamon roll (the fluffy super delicious one) met an apple pie. The filling is the traditional apple pie one (think sliced apples baked with sugar and vanilla + spices and a bit of lemon juice) and the crust and crumble topping is like the crunchier version of a cinnamon bun.
And the glaze can we talk a second about the glaze? Becuase it’s the one that brings all the flavors together and creates the most mind blowing good pie! The glaze is made with a bit of heavy cream and confectioners sugar, and it tastes just like the glaze we use to top rolls.
And then there’s the fact that we can actually keep them frozen and then just take it to the oven for a couple of minutes before serving. Just make sure you don’t freeze it with the glaze. You can glaze it before serving. That makes it incredibly great for those busy busy busy holiday days. I mean can we just agree that knowing the dessert is waiting for you in the freezer and you don’t need to worry about it is the best thing?
