This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me by Coupons.com. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic. I jumped at the chance to talk to you about Audible. It is my Secret Obsession with Audio Books!  #audiobooksforfall

You, my readers know a ton about me from all the posting about my style and my family, but I know that there is something that I don’t normally talk about. I have a reading obsession, but have no time to actually sit down and read anything. Instead of reading in the traditional sense, I read by listening to books from Audible.com. My husband and I both have our own subscription where we get 1 credit per month. That is 12 books per year.

I usually use (steal) his credits to download books that we would both enjoy like the 5 books of Game of Thrones . We listen to them together sometimes, but mostly I blow through them while he is not around. I have the Audible App on my phone and iPad and I use them every single day. Any time that I doing something that does not require my full mental attention, I listen to books.

I listen to Audible Books while I am driving, doing my hair, makeup, folding laundry, cleaning, while I am walking with the stroller, and while I am editing photos or creating graphics for the blog. I feel like I am being more productive by listening to books instead of having TV or music in the background.

I have listened to everything from Classics like Sherlock Holmes and All the Kings Men to the Hunger Games, 50 Shades of Grey, and Divergent.

Most of the narrators are amazing. I am dying to download Breakfast at Tiffany’s Narrated By Michael C. Hall. Remember Dexter? Well, Michael C. Hall is Dexter and has an amazing voice. Of course, I have read the classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s since that is where I got my blog name from, but I am excited to listen to it. Some books are narrated several times by different narrators so you can choose which voice you prefer by listening to the preview and reading the comments on the Audio Book. The website is really helpful and the audio aficionados will give you helpful opinions.

  1. How great that you both have a subscription so that you can listen to double the books each month. Sounds like you really have your system down so that you are never without a book for long. I love to read too but unless ti is for work I find that I have less and less time to actually sit and enjoy a book.

  9. Wait you can listen to audiobooks on your phone? I didn’t know that! I have tried audiobooks but didn’t like that I had to play them from my computer. If I could listen while I walk, that would be great!

  12. I would love to see if they have some audio books for learning computer related stuff and not just novels. I love to read but I think it would be neat to listen to something educational while I work too!
