As a mom, there are very few things that go perfectly in my day and nights. I try my best to stick to this nightly beauty routine to help my skin and body to feel the best before bed. Also, I have noticed that when I skip even one step, I end up with a breakout.
I start by making Natural Calm (get the individually packaged supplement here). It is an organic supplement with magnesium that helps relax me. It tastes great and I like drinking it during my
Diffusing Lavender Oil
Then, I start diffusing Lavender oil in my diffuser. It helps relax me and the diffuser acts as a humidifier to bring some moisture into my bedroom. This stylish marble diffuser is from Amazon (you can get it here).
Terry Cloth Hair Turban
Put on a hair in a terry cloth hair turban (this is my favorite). I have a few of them just in case they get dirty or wet.
Wash my face with Dermalogica Special Cleaning Gel (get it here from Dermalogica). It is a light foaming gel face soap that does not strip your skin of moisture.
Use a pink makeup remover cloth (get my favorite here) to remove my face wash from my skin. It works great for sensitive skin and helps me clean my face without making a mess.
Tone and remove makeup with Micellar Water (this is my favorite) and cotton rounds. It is one of my favorite things in my nighttime beauty regimen because it does so much more than just tone. It cleanses too!
What is Micellar Water?
“According to board-certified dermatologist Hadley King of Skinney Medspa, micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. “The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin,” she says. Therefore, micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one.” – Huffington Post
Peter Thomas Roth Un Wrinkle Peel Pads
Then, I apply Peter Thomas Roth Un Wrinkle Peel Pads (get these amazing pads here) all over my face avoiding eye area. I leave this on for 5 to 10 minutes while I clean up my bedroom and vanity a little bit. Sometimes, I will pluck some stray eyebrow hairs while I wait. I remove the peel from my skin with my pink makeup remover cloth (get my favorite here).
Does Dermawand Work?
Dermawand really works. I use the Dermawand to zap my skin. I go lightly over my entire face with the middle setting, then I use the highest setting to zap any blemishes. It really works to help reduce the size of pimples overnight and over the course of a few days. I notice that if I feel a bump coming under the skin, I can prevent it from coming out with a few nights of zaps with the Dermawand (get it here from Amazon).
On my dry cleansed skin, I use benzoyl peroxide acne treatment from Acne.org (try the treatment here). I let it dry for a few minutes while I clean up the rest of my bathroom.
Then, I apply Dermlogica’s Sound Sleep Cocoon (learn more about this awesome stuff here) which is a new night gel-cream that works and smells fantastic.
