It’s rare that April and I get to go out to the movie theater on opening weekend anymore. The obvious reason is that our adorable daughter is still too young to take to the theater without getting the Luigi Death Stare from other patrons when she starts making noise. Last weekend though April’s sister agreed to … Read more

April and I just got back from a special early screening of The Muppets: Most Wanted, and boy are our arms tired. Wakka-wakka! Obligatory Fozzy Bear terrible joke out-of-the-way. The Muppets: Most Wanted is a direct sequel to the 2011 surprise re-boot-quel The Muppets, which launched the loveable puppets back into the public consciousness. Jason Segal who is given much credit for helping that film succeed declined to be part of this film. While his presence is missed this movie as the human heart at the center of the cast of fuzzy Muppets, The Muppets: Most Wanted manages to not suffer too much without him.
I received free products to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration. As always, all opinions are my own.
Disney Princesses are pretty awesome and if you are planning a Disney Princess party or just a Disney themed party, this No Sew Disney Princess TuTu DIY is for you. I divided the instructions into pre-party and during party instructions to make it easier to host the party. I chose tulle in princess and villain type colors like: red (Minnie Mouse and Cruella Deville), pink (Sleeping Beauty or ), Light Blue/Green (The Little Mermaid), Yellow (Mulan, Belle, Snow White), Light Blue (Cinderella) and Black (Ursula and Maleficent).
I received free products to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration and B.J. Wholesalec Club provided a gift card towards food. As always, all opinions are my own.
I recently hosted a Disney Side Celebration and was inspired to come up with a few Mickey Mouse themed recipes. This recipe came to me at the last minute as I was about to put out the cheese cake bites that I bought at B.J. Wholesale Club. They were already pre-sliced and pre-made so it was a no brainer to add something extra to them. It took only minutes to add the blue berried to the top.
Periko & Jessi Leon at Starbucks “Noches Cultures” featuring Caramel Flan Latte by Maria Serritella
Maria Serritella is a great friend of mine. She is a fashionista, actor, dancer, makeup artist, and mother that will be contributing to April Golightly. Check out and like her IMDB page and her makeup skills in this tutorial.
This week, I had the amazing opportunity to meet & interview the extremely talented & vibrant duo PERIKO & JESSI LEON at the Starbucks “Noches Culturales” in Miami, where customers were invited to celebrate culture, tradition, & the new Caramel Flan Latte accompanied with live acoustic music!
On this particular night of “Noches Culturales” we had something extra special to celebrate…it marked the 1-year anniversary of the duo together making latin pop rock music magic! Combined, their musical talents include composition, singing, & songwriting. Together they play guitar, ukulele, bass, & percussion instruments. Coming from successful solo careers, it was no surprise that their magical union occurred given the chemistry of the perfect blending of their voices. They have performed together in countless venues including The 14th Latin Grammy Street Party, Premios Lo Nuestro, Latin Billboard Showcase, Dewaristas con Juanes as Finalists, St. Jude Children’s Hospital Gala, Radio Amor 107.5, Lexus Listening Lounge, Univision, Showbiz (CNN), MegaTV, America TeVe, Sirius XM, MTV Tr3s, Telemundo, Telfutura, among others.

Complexions Contemporary Ballet by Maria Serritella

This month I had the very fortunate circumstance of attending and viewing the performance of one of the most talented dance companies in the world today, Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Led by acclaimed artistic directors and founders Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, this multicultural company has been reinventing dance since its inception in 1984. Over the last 20 years, they worked hard and smart to find themselves having travelled the world over showcasing their genius choreographers and virtuoso dancers. It has been their vision of expressing non-restrictive movement in relation to our ever-evolving, more culturally interconnected society that has catapulted them to the top of the dance entertainment scene.
