What to Wear as the Mother of the Bride

What to Wear as the Mother of the Bride

This post is sponsored by Dress First. All opinions and advice is 100% my own.

As the Mother of the Bride it is important that you stand out and look fabulous to honor your daughter. When deciding what to wear as the Mother of the Bride consider the colors your daughter has chosen for her wedding and also your own body type.

What to Wear as the Mother of the Bride

Speak to your daughter about the colors and the length you are considering so that it does not clash with her bridesmaid dresses or what she imagines her day to be. The Mother of the Bride and the Bride should probably go Mother of the Bride dress shopping together or at least have an email correspondence with links to dress options.

Black is not a great idea and you have to watch that you don’t end up with an unwanted color combination. For example, a red bride’s maid dress with a green Mother of the Bride dress in June is far too festive, but might work in December depending on the brides taste and religion.

Choose the best Mother of Bride Dress for your Body Type

V-Neck Mother of the Bride Dresses are universally flattering to all figures, including hourglass, triangle, inverted triangle, and rectangle. Women with hourglass figures look great in surplices and wraps as well. Anything that calls attention to the waist is helpful for this body type.

Infinity Jewelry

Infinity Jewelry / Giveaway / End 1/15/2014

I have been wanting an infinity bracelet since I saw the movie The Vanishing with Jeff Bridges in the 1990s. It is serial killer thriller where Jeff Bridges lures Sandra Bullock into his trap with a cool infinity bracelet. I don’t want the ruin the ending…but I am going to so stop reading if you care. Basically, Sandra Bullock’s character dies because she is so into this infinity bracelet. Infinity has power in the movie and in life. According to Wikipedia, “Infinity is is an abstract concept describing something without any limit.” In life, infinity does not seem that abstract. Infinity is used to define endless love. Onecklace has all this awesome infinity jewelry. They have me an Endless April necklace which I have been wearing a ton. Check out how cute it looks here. They were also nice enough to provide me with a heart and love infinity necklace to giveaway to my readers.

Evolution of Golf Clothes for Women

Evolution of Golf Clothes for Women

Content and compensation were provided for this post. As always, all opinions are my own.

The history of women’s golf is a long one, starting in the 1500s. However, it did not really become acceptable for women to play golf as a hobby until the 19th century and even then, women did not play professionally until the 20th century. As the attire of men’s golf clothing evolved over the years, so did women’s golf clothes. In the beginning, women wore skirts that were formal. As time went on, women’s golf clothing became more casual, and today, looks very similar to what men wear on the golf course.
