A little over a month ago, I gave birth to the love of my life, Camilla Gray. She came in to the world during a planned c-section in early July. She was 9 pounds 2 ounces, 21 inches, and was born with a full head of black hair. I have been recovering from my c-section for the past few weeks and I am finally starting to feel normal again. It does not help that I have not been sleeping as much as normal, but even with the lack of sleep, I am getting better. I just started really dressing her up in the outfits that everyone has bought for her. She’s actually already in size 3 month clothing. She went through the newborn clothing in about 2 1/2 weeks. As soon as she regained her birth weight, they started getting tight.

This week the whole family went to Best Buy to check out the trade in value for our old phones. My mom has the original Galaxy with the slide keyboard which has a trade in value of $20 and $25 if she brought the charger with her, my sister has 4GS which has a trade in value of $170, and my hubby has an iPhone 5 which he’s not willing to trade in yet. He does however want the new Samsung Galaxy Note! It’s too big for me! We are all trying to get on the same service to save some money. As a new mother and self-proclaimed fashionista, I have been shopping for a diaper bag since I found out I was pregnant. I bought a Kate Spade Polka Dot diaper bag, was given the Coach Bag pictured below by my dad, and was give a red bowler by Lassig. My husband received a manly diaper bag by Skip Hop at the shower from some friends. I think this covers me for all my diaper bag needs. Luckily, they are all cute enough to be worn again as regular bags. The Kate Spade bag is the largest and could easily fit all the stuff listed on my diaper bag check list. If I am going to be out all day, I will be taking the Kate Spade diaper bag, but if I only going to be out for a few hours, I can use the Coach or the Lassig bag. As you can see from my check list, the longer you will be out, the more diapers and stuff you will need.
I am putting together my hospital bag right now as the baby is coming very soon. According to my last ultra-sound at 35 weeks, my baby is 1 ounce shy of 8 pounds. That is amazing and I am sort of freaked out by how big she is. I am scheduled for a c-section because of her size on July 9. To keep my mind off of the c-section, I am packing my hospital bag with the use of my hospital bag checklist. When I say hospital bag, I mean hospital bags as I do not own a bag that will fit all of the things that I might need.
Every time my puppy, Harrison Ford goes to the groomer her comes back with a cute scarf. Since I have been doing his grooming lately, I decided to make a pet scarf DIY. For my baby shower, I bought a pink polka dot fabric quarter from Joann Fabric. I know he is boy puppy, but boys can wear pink too! He looks very manly in his pink polka dot scarf! We made him a camo printed one that he has been wearing non-stop as well. I cannot wait to match the babies outfits to Harrison’s bandanas. The ability to buy fabric in quarters makes it really easy to make a ton of these pet bandanas.

The Macy’s Culinary Council is an amazing collection of acclaimed chefs that travel the country doing cooking demonstrations for Macy’s customer. I visited Macy’s in the Aventura Mall where Chef Michelle Bernstein dazzled me with her skills and comedy.
Chef Michelle Bernstein cooked up some Latin favorites for an audience at Macy’s in Aventura, Florida. She is the Chef at Miami mainstays including Michy’s and Crumb on Parchment. Chef Berstein also taught us some of her culinary secrets including how to make crispy garlic. She put the garlic in a shrimp and grits recipe that somehow did not have that overwhelming garlicky taste that has been making sick lately (#pregnancyproblem #1).
My belly is getting bigger by the day and we just had our baby shower last weekend. The gifts somehow made the her coming more immenient and real. The Baby Shower Favors were probably the most fun thing about the baby shower preparation. If you have already hosted a baby shower, you know how much work it is. My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Harrison Ford is my first child and I love him dearly. He is the cutest, sweetest, most loving dog that I have ever encountered. He wants nothing more than to be pet and loved by his mommy.
I am concerned that he is going to get jealous once the baby comes in July. He sleeps with every night in my nook, but he is already being put out of his sleeping spot because my nook no longer exists. My belly bump has taken over the nook spot and it is just too uncomfortable to sleep with him there right now.
The Spa at Emerald Grande in Destin, Florida was a life saver for me last week at the Brandcation DESTINation event. Summer is almost here and my bikini blues are starting to begin. I’m in a perpetual need to lose weight so when offered the option to try a meal plan with the goal of reducing body fat I jumped right on it. Summer is fast approaching, and while I doubt my ability to star in any Baywatch fan films I feel that sticking to a meal plan that will help me shape up will get me one step closer.
