DESPERADOS #SeizeTheNight
Heinekin has officially unveiled it’s newest bottled beverage…Desperados, a delicious, new, crisp blend of their legendary beer blended with the sweetness of a tequila barrel aged lager and natural lemon flavor.
To kick off the celebration of this fantastic new beverage, I attended the exclusive private music event #seizethenight in Wynwood, Miami’s own ToeJam Backlot to promote this adult concoction, along with some other local grownup treats.
I kicked off my night by satisfying my appetite with hot brick-oven pizza…delicious, cheesy goodness baked right on the spot from the food truck. Whisking my way around this adult playground backlot, I come across several really awesome pop-ups. The first featured the talented, and very personable, local artist Ryan the WheelBarrow, known for his Live Fashion Vandalism, where he literally paints your fashions while you are wearing them. How cool is that?! At #seizethenight, he was spot on customizing t-shirts while you watched and waited. And, if you saw one on the rack that was already customized, and wasn’t claimed, you could scribble your name on it and claim it for your very own, which is exactly what I did to get my hands on one, quickly! Just a few feet from Ryan’s station was the uber-cool and charming, Aileen of Makeup by Aileen. There was no-doubt that she would deliver some rad punk looks to anyone lucky enough to nab a seat in her station. I am so happy I was one of those lucky people. I sat for a few minutes in her chair while she studied me and the makeup I currently had on, then went straight to work on my face. I absolutely LOVED my punk makeup look! Oh, and by the way, for the truest of dare devils, shaved haircuts were offered by Chico’s Marked 4Life’s Assad Morales. This was exciting to witness. Next up, I came across an airbrush station that was set up to customize graffiti, 80’s-style truck hats…the only twist here was that you had to “rap” for your cap. So, anyone willing and gutsy enough to stand up and rap a few lines, nabbed a customized, graffiti airbrushed trucker cap. Yep, I got mine. And yes, I rapped for it just like everyone else :)) lol
Of course, it wouldn’t be a music event without loads of great music and Dj’s featuring sounds by: The Juan Maclean, Jeremy Ismael, The Hip-Hop/Miami Bass Otto Von Shirach, A-Train, Louie Arson, VJ-ing by The TM Sisters, DJ’s Ess+Emm, Bonnie Beats, Arlette, Grace Jones, and headliner YACHT. Needless to say, I was stoked!
It truly was “a music+nightlife destination of rebellious proportions” showcasing dance, hip-hop, sexual, and punk revolutions!
Thanks, Desperados!
