George had it right when he said, “I would drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable!” Now that the holidays are right around the corner and it IS socially acceptable to drape yourself in velvet, I am buying up all of it. In my teens, I acquired a few velvet pieces that have stood the test of time. I think they have lasted so long mainly because I live in Florida.
The first thing I broke out of my wardrobe this season was my wine colored velvet blazer from the Gap. I am dying to wear it over a hot cocktail dress and casually with a white button down, skinny jeans, and some black booties. Since the blazer has gotten so many miles on it and still looks like I purchased it yesterday, I had the urge to find out what is going on at the Gap. Here are some cute items that I found:
The nostalgia of shopping at the Gap aside, I’ve been very impressed that their corporate geniuses have finally found a way to capitalize my shoe weakness with Piperlime. Some more cool velvet stuff.
