Pick the perfect ring

Arguably the most important thing in any engagement is the ring and you want to get it right. You should try and find out your partner’s ring size in advance – you could ask a friend to have a conversation with them, or you could take one of their other rings they wear to the jewellers to find out what size that is and go with that. Remember it’s always better to go a bit better and get the ring adjusted to be made smaller after, as opposed to the other way round.Look up the best place to buy engagement rings near you and go for a look in person as opposed to online as you will get a much better feel for the rings and a more personal service too!

Decide where you will do it

The location of your engagement is another important factor. Do you want to get engaged abroad? If so, why not time it with a vacation, or book a special trip away? Is there somewhere special that you both consider ‘your place’ where you can take them to and get down on one knee there? Is there somewhere close to you that is glamorous and they would just love to be proposed to? Get it booked! These are all things to consider.

Think about the little touches

The little touches can really make the proposal. Think about things such as having a photographer hiding to capture photos, having champagne ready so you can celebrate once you have proposed, and if you want to decorate the space such as with balloons or flower petals. You might want to book a night in a hotel afterwards so you can go and celebrate and make it super romantic, or you might want to arrange to meet with all your friends and family.

These are just a few things that should help you when it comes to planning the perfect engagement. Remember that getting engaged is personal to you, so don’t let what others have done in the past sway you. Instead, think about what your other half would like the most. Whether this is something private and secluded at home, in a restaurant or on a sandy beach somewhere, there are so many options to choose from.
