VSP Open Enrollment: Importance of Annual Eye Exams

You may have noticed that I wear a lot of glasses. I don’t wear them just because they are fashionable. I wear because I am pretty much legal blind without them. I have been wearing glasses since second grade and contact since sixth grade. Over the years, my vision got worse and worse until finally it leveled off during law school. It was also out of wack during pregnancy. This apparently is a side effect that no one tells you about it until you Google it after a few weeks of not being able to read street signs.

MANIcure MonDAY: Kate Spade Orange Solar

Last week at the Tour de Fashion, I received a pack of 4 nail polishes from Kate Spade. The colors are very Kate Spade which I love! I wish I could afford more Kate Spade bags and accessories, but of course I have to limit my purchases since I have a new baby and house to worry about it. The Kate Spade nail polish is great way to wear Kate Spade without breaking the bank. My first nail polish that I tried is the Orange Solar. I wore it for about a week on my hands and now going on 2 weeks on my toes. The color is very versatile and looks great with everything.

Goodwill: Donate Stuff & Create Jobs!

Did you know that donating one bag of clothing and one bag of books can equal up to 2.3 hours of on-the-job training for someone in your community? Add to that a used lamp, a dusty computer and perhaps a box of DVDs and CDs, and that number nearly doubles to 5.2 hours! I am huge fan of Goodwill for finding awesome clothing pieces you just can’t find in retail stores. I go to other vintage stores here and there, but Goodwill is old reliable for me. The idea for this Jackson Pollock DIY came from a canvas that I picked up at Goodwill. I found these amazing St. John’s capris at Goodwill as well as these awesome plaid shorts.

Last week, there was an awesome fashion event at The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills called “Tour de Fashion” with George Kotsiopoulos, celebrity stylist and co-host of Fashion Police for E! Entertainment. It was a perfectly temperate day with great food, fabulous styling, fashion shows, and shopping. Check out more details about the event in the article I wrote for Examiner.com. Of course, the Street Style of Tour de Fashion at Sawgrass Mill was my favorite part of the event.

Planet Beach Brickell

I met up with the Bloggin’ Mamasthis week to check out the Planet Beach Brickell. We were given one month free passes to try the place out in compensation for writing about our experience. Before the event, I was apprehensive about attending because I thought it was going to be a tanning place and I am so done with tanning beds. I was happy to find out that no tanning occurs at this Planet Beach in Brickell. They are all about repair and wellness. My kinda place! They do have spray tan and I am all for that! Expect me to be tan at some point in my next few posts because I am definitely trying out the spray tan. Time to start looking like a Floridian! Maybe being tan will motivate me to work out. What is the Jersey Shoe moto? Gym-Tan-Laundry? I have never seen the show, but I have heard it around town. Planet Beach Contempo Spa’s moto is Relax, Glow and Renew! Sounds like all the things I need to do right now. So far, I tried out the Hydro massager and the Luminous Facial with the blue light.
