The Pantone Color of the Year is actually 2 colors this year – Rose Quartz and Serenity. They are both beautiful shades that I love already and am really happy that they will probably be all over the place soon. Also, I am much happier with the choice this year than I was last year. I am just not a Marsala person. I tried, but it is just too dark for my taste. I love the pastels!!!
I first noticed the combination of Serenity and Rose Quartz a few weeks ago when I interviewed Rebecca Minkoff. Her graffiti bags have a mix of the 2 colors in a beautiful airbrushed way. The purse even incorporates some of the suggesting matching colors from the Pantone website.
The combination of the colors are said to help the modern woman deal with everyday stresses. Rose Quartz and Serenity bring an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.
