Sawgrass Mills Spring Shopping Spree
I can remember going to the Sawgrass Mills Outlet Mall for the first time when I was in high school and living in Stuart, Florida almost 2 hours north of the mega outlet mall. I spent hours shopping and checking out my favorite brands. Back then, I was a huge Gap and Banana Republic fan. I remember my experiences shopping there very fondly. When Sawgrass Mills contacted me to put together an outfit for then, I jumped at the chance. When I say, I was jumping; I was literally jumping up and down with excitement to go shopping at Sawgrass Mills.
I shopped at all the outlet stores that I was hoping to with my daughter in tow. She played on her over-sized play mat while I tried on tons of outfits. I went to Off 5th Sak’s 5th Avenue’s Outlet Store, Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF), Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Burberry, and Neiman Marcus Last Call. When I started, I was determined to get a DVF wrap dress and a Tory Burch Bag.
I ended up getting way more than I expected because I was very judicious with my $500 gift card. For $500, I bought a DVF wrap dress for $86 from Neiman Marcus Last Call, DVF animal print wedged sandals for $130 from the DVF Outlet, Michael Kors white bag for $199 and leather rain and stain repellant, and Tory Burch flip flops.
The DVF wrap dress is the iconic chainlink print. The dress is called Blue New Jeanne 2 Silk Wrap Dress and is selling online for $345!!! I have wanted a DVF wrap dress for years, but did not want to pay nearly $400 for it. Also, since seeing American Hustle in the theaters, I have been even more motivated to get one. The best part of the DVF wrap dresses is that they look good on everyone. They looked great on flat chested ultra skinny Amy Adams, and I am wearing a size 10 and rocking DDD cup size right now.
Once I bought the dress, the shopping decisions came pretty easy. I started looking for pieces that would look good with the dress and that I would get the most mileage out of this spring. I recently started wearing heels again, but have been wearing mostly platform wedge ankle strap sandals. They give me the height and the stability that I need since my calves are not supporting me the way the used to. I miss my pre-baby body, but until I get it back, Mama has to work what she’s got.
