Will Camouflage Replace Leopard !?!
Camo has become one of my favorite prints lately. I actually wondering if camouflage print will replace leopard print as the go to neutral print this fall. The print contains some of the same neutral color contained in leopard. Black and tan grounds camo as a neutral print the same way it does for leopard. Camo looks great with black, brown, and a wide variety of other colors, including, but, of course, not limited to yellow, orange, and pink.

After reading InStyle’s Color Crash Course in the October 2013 issue, I was dying to put together paprika outfits. InStyle’s editor pointed out that orange is an attention getting color. You should expect to be noticed in paprika. When everyone is wearing neutrals and black this fall, stand out with a spice of paprika. I found this Michael Kors dress at Encore Plus in Boca Raton, Florida. Encore Plus was nice enough to let me borrow it to wear to Tastemakers this week. The paprika and camo combination was a big hit at Tastemakers. This Michael Kors dress is perfect for fall in Florida and fall transition outfits. Hit up Encore Plus to see if it is still available. Fall is around the corner and I am loving this Rococo Red nail polish from Nuance Salma Hayek. The color reminds me of the amazing red lips that were all over the runway this fall. Nuance Salma Hayek is only sold at CVS stores. The pictures with yellow background is where I painted 2 coats. The color of the polish is much deeper than the bottle. With one coat the color is lighter than in the bottle. Great price at $5.99 per bottle. I like both color so I cannot complain!
3.1 Phillip Lim is putting out a line for Target set to come out on September 15. I am beyond excited for the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target launch. Here are a few (actually quite a few) items that I am dying to try on. I hope that launch opening day is not going to be as crazy as the Missoni for Target launch day because I would really like to get to try on the items before I buy them. Knowing how much people love Phillip Lim, I suspect that it is going to be nuts! I especially cannot wait to see the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target bags in person. I have been dying for one of his bags for a while now. I have one of his belts that I absolutely adore. I am wearing it here!
I went shopping at Nordstrom last week for a skirt, but of course I had to try on a few tops and jackets while I was in there. I found an awesome skirt by Halogen, but they did not have the pattern that I wanted in the store so I ordered the quilted version online. I really love it and if I was working in an office everyday and planning to stay this size, I’d probably buy every color. They have 8 colors and 2 patterns!
I tried on a few cut out tops that drew me in and I feel in love with these jeans jackets in mint and camo from KUT from the Kloth. The camo one is on sale for 50% and the mint jean jacket is 60% off. I might just have to order the camo one online since Nordstrom only had XS left. I am wearing a medium jacket now. The black & white stripe dress is mine. I bought it at Sam’s Club. It is soooo comfortable!
Black & white outfits are so easy to put together that I often forget about them. Everyone has black and white pieces in their wardrobe that will make being in style this fall pretty easy. I chose gray accessories because it is a little more unexpected than basic black accessories. If you do not own gray shoes, black would great with this as well. I love gray shoes as they work with more colors than black, like navy, orange, and yellow.
This is the start of my shopping for fall. I found an amazing quilted skirt at Nordstrom that is completely on trend and totally wearable. I am working on getting thinner after having my baby so I need some clothing for my transition period. I adore this Quilted Front Ponte Knit Pencil Skirt by Halogen because of the side panels that creates a slimming effect and also the fabric is stretch and comfortable. I took a cue from the Fall Ready to Wear Runways in purchasing this versatile black skirt. The wedge sneaker trend is being seen everywhere on celebrities and bloggers alike. I’ve had a pair of red converse style wedge sneakers for roughly 10 years that I bought at Payless so I was well ahead of the curve. 😉 They have held up because I take care of them and don’t wear them that often. When I saw wedge sneakers reappear, I decided to give it another try. Once I put them on my foot, I feel in love! Right now, at 25 weeks pregnant, wearing heels is just not happening for longer than 20 minutes. The wedges sneakers allow me to gain some height in comfort.

Wrap dresses are a lifesaver during pregnancy. I have been searching my closet for outfits that I can still wear in my 21st week and beyond. This wrap dress has stood the test of time! It was purchased at Target in 2006. That is pretty amazing. I have hand washed it so that it would last longer. I have worn it to work on countless occasions. The wrap belt used to hit at my natural waist, but now it is an empire waist. I’m not complaining just pointing out the change. If you are looking for outfits that can be worn during and after the baby is born, look for wrap dresses with material that gives a little.
I came across these pictures the other day. After looking at them, I came to the realization that I miss being skinny. This was last year, but I’ve had that Old Navy floral skirt since high school. I cannot wait to get back in shape. Until then, I will be trying to keep in shape as much as any pregnant woman can.
