In life, your health is the most important things that you have and it needs to be taken care of. As a parent, it’s up to you to teach your little one about this and what they can do to take care of their wellbeing, from their diet to dental hygiene, their sight and hearing. It’s not enough to just say ‘you need to eat well’ or ‘you need to brush your teeth’. Instead, explain to them why they are so vital. Tell them about what having a bad diet can do, from making you gain weight to having a variety of health issues when they’re older. By adding context it can make it easier for them to process and know what repercussions can happen if they don’t do it. There are also educational videos and books you can look into that can help you with explain things to your kids.

Encourage their involvement from a young age

Most children learn best when actually doing something and forming healthy habits. It’s a good idea to get them involved in their health from a young age so it comes naturally to them as opposed to having to be taught it later down the line. Have them cook healthy meals with you, to brush their own teeth and wash properly when they’re in the bath. Teach them about healthy communication and encourage them to speak to you about things that are bothering them too.
