A few weeks ago, I went to Ireland for the very first time. The friendliness of the culture and the restaurants in Ireland blew me away. I could live in Ireland and will be returning to see more of the country and introduce my family to the fantastic landscapes, delicious food, and congeniality of the Irish culture.

The land is extremely fertile, and I noticed in my travels around Ireland that the people are more focused on a local and organic food choices. Not every farm is USDA certified, but a lot them abide by the standards avoid pesticides and fertilizer. I love that the restaurants in Ireland not only give you great tasting food, but they bring historical intrigue and family with every bite you take. These are some of my favorite luxury restaurants in Ireland Ancient East.

 Restaurants in Ireland

Bassett’s Restaurant

If you are looking for a restaurant that has an outstanding atmosphere and beautiful, amazing food, Bassett’s Restaurant is the perfect place for you. When I walked into the main dining room, I immediately fell in love with the location. The light streams from the back wall that is entirely windows. As you can see from my photos, this location and was a food photographer’s dream. I want my house to look like this so I can get these shots every day. Some of my favorites on the menu were the crab claws, the pizza, and the smoked Goatsbridge trout with orange and fennel salad and horseradish cream. They present everything beautifully, and the owner is a passionate father of 3 girls. You get a sense of Ireland’s cultural warmth by seeing this family business in action.

The Green Barn at Burtown House

Burtown House at the Green Barn is my favorite places to eat in Ireland! The Green Barn is a Farm to Table restaurant that is family owned by a husband and wife with art in their blood. It reminds me of a restaurant we have The Boca Raton Farmer’s Table. The Green Barn is on the property of The Burtown House, an early Georgian Villa built for the Quaker, Robert Power in 1710 and passed down to Fennell family. The Burtown House have never been sold. Learn More About the History Here. We took a walkthrough of the fantastic property, and it made me fall in love with the Fennell Family. After receiving the tour of Burtown House and the farm, we had an excellent lunch at The Green Barn. We had a Beet Root Soup fresh from the garden on the property.

Mikey Ryan’s

The decor immediately stood out to me upon entering the Mikey Ryan’s Restaurant. When they brought out the food, I fell in love again. The location is extremely historical being right in the Town Square of Tipperary. Mikey Ryan’s was a public house and grocery store and still has the signs out front showing as much. Mikey Ryan’s Bar & Kitchen is an Irish gastropub with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients of high quality, organic wherever possible. The work directly with local farmers and artisan producers such as The Good Herdsmen, Annie’s Organic Farm and Comfrey Cottage Cashel for vegetables and of course Cashel Blue Cheese. You get to taste the local products while dining at the restaurant.

Hotel Minella’s Restaurant

The Hotel Minella Restaurant is the epitome of luxury dining with white tablecloths and a dessert cart. For dinner, I had the Salmon with pesto and tomato. The Salmon in Ireland is like no other. I usually do not like Salmon and will not order it in Florida. Most of the fish in Florida is fantastic because it is freshly caught and served without being frozen. We do not have fresh Salmon in Florida because it is cold water fish that does not swim in our waters. Salmon is freshly caught off the coast of Ireland and tastes fantastic! Even if you do not like Salmon, you must try it in Ireland. You will thank me!

The dinner at Hotel Minella was terrific, and I will be writing a follow-up blog post about the property and the food. Stay tuned!

Hound Restaurant in Hunter’s Yard

The Hound in Hunter’s Yard is on the property of Mount Juliet. The restaurant is family friends and delicious. Where we were sitting, you could see where the horses were held and the original rings where the horse’s reins were hooked. The Mount Juliet Citrus Cured Salmon was my favorite served on traditional Irish brown bread. It is cured in-house for 36 hours before it is served.

Statham’s Restaurant in the Pembroke Hotel

The Statham’s Restaurant is located in the Pembroke Hotel in Kilkenny. You will be blown away by the food and the finely curated menu. Everything that I ate was impeccable! The restaurant has a laid-back luxury style with good local Kilkenny produce. The Pembroke Hotel is steeped in Irish History being the location of a Statham’s Garage where he housed racing cars that he modified from a Ford in the 1930s. The owner of the hotel has one of the old cars still running and let us check it out while we were visiting.

The Bistro at Killashee Hotel

The Killashee Hotel is gorgeous and luxurious. As we drove up to see the amazing ivy-covered house, they rolled out the red carpet for us. The food and the ground blew everyone away. For dinner, we started with smoked salmon on Irish brown bread and Spicy Chicken Wings with
Louisiana Hot Sauce, Blue Cheese Dip, and Celery. They were unexpected and exceptional amongst all the rich food we had been eating on our food tour of Ireland Ancient Eat.
