This week I had the pleasure of learning all about Wendy’s Salad. After delving into the process of how the salads are made at Wendy’s, I have a new healthy on the go food. I have been complaining to my husband for months about not being able to find a health option when I am having a busy day. I wanted to share my new discovery with you.

Wendy's Salads

Wendy’s focuses on freshness! In every Wendy’s restaurant, employees freshly chop vegetables every day, starting with full heads of iceberg and romaine lettuces and other veggies like cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes. We saw the employees chopping the lettuce and veggies, then we put together the salad ourselves. Seeing behind the scenes really made me confident about eating the Wendy’s Salads.

Wendy's Lettuce Wendy's Veggies

Every salad entrée uses only premium white meat chicken breasts that are grilled at the time of your order and placed warm on your salad.

Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas opened the first Wendy’s restaurant in 1969 grounded on the premise that “Quality is our Recipe®.” For more than 45 years, Wendy’s has been invested in bringing customers the quality ingredients that differentiate us from others in the industry.

Check out this video series that takes on a behind-the-scenes tour of Wendy’s salads to follow the life cycle of specific ingredients from harvest to the bowl. The video was shot at a real Wendy’s with real employees doing their daily fresh salad preparation. The first video “Wendy’s Romaine Lettuce Journey” highlights the speedy story of a single head of romaine lettuce as it travels from farm to drive-thru. 1. These salads look great! Usually a salad from a fast food restaurant is all soggy and gross. This looks amazing, though.

  2. It’s so cool to get a behind the scenes look at how fast-food joints prep their food. They always get a bad rep at how fresh, or not-so-fresh their food is.

  3. My favorite is the apple pecan. I don’t eat chicken so I always ask them to leave it off. Some Wendy’s will reduce the price and others won’t 🙂 But I love their salads.

  4. I am glad that Wendy’s is starting to serve healthier food. I still always order their burgers when I eat there (not healthy I know), but this is a great option!

  5. I would love to have the Wendy’s chain here in Ireland. Those salads look so delicious and so healthy too, perfect meal options.

  6. Those full size ones look kind of big, don’t think I could eat one so I’d probably get a half. They do look delicious though! I usually always get a chicken sandwich when I go to Wendy’s, maybe I’ll have to get this instead.

  7. Those look really good! I used to go to Wendy’s all the time but since we have moved we don’t have one near us.

  8. It’s nice to see some decent fast food options with salads. Most salads are loaded with all kinds of junk that makes them unhealthy but it’s great that these have so many veggies.

  9. This one of my favorite restaurant ever! I love their salads its very healthy and really yummy. I’m glad that you have tried it.

  10. Now I am going to have to try each of these salads indeed from Wendy’s. They sounds and looks so good except without dressing. I don’t eat any dressings. Thanks for sharing.

  11. I love Wendy’s Salads. They truly are so fresh. Whenever, I go to Wendy’s that is one of my selections that I get. So filling too!

  12. Mmm, I just realized how many varieties they had last month. My Husband got the apple pecan chicken salad and it was soo amazing, I had to go back and get one for myself!

  13. Those salads look great! I don’t eat salads but I love that there’s the option! I haven’t been to Wendy’s in years. Now a trip is in order!

  14. Looking at all these pictures made my mouth water! I had no idea that they chop their own fresh veggies. I just figured they came in a big plastic bag, already chopped and ready to go (and already several days old).

  15. I like Wendy’s. They are the bit healthier place to go to for fast food. I like to get a salad without cheese and croutons, a baked potato with butter and sour cream on the side and a small chili. Yum.

  16. This is what the fresh food from Wendy’s actually looks like, too. I’ve eaten a million salads on my lunch break from there and as many baked potatoes 🙂

  17. This are one reason to love Wendys salad. It look so fresh and perfect for a post workout meal. I want one some of this!

  18. Wendy’s was my first job and I always felt they were very high quality. I want one of those big salad choppers!

  19. When I’m doing fast food, Wendy’s is my first choice by far. I like how they’ve always spearheaded having some healthier food options also.

  20. I try not to eat fast food but when I do it’s either Wendy’s or Taco Bell!! I just can’t stay away for that long lol…. I will have to try one of these salads next time I go!
