This is a sponsored post as part of an ongoing partnership with CVS Health. I love CVS and am super excited to share all the goodies that I have found!

My husband was recently diagnosed with high (ish) cholesterol. It is greater than it should be, but not so high as to make him take medication. The doctor suggested that he take in more fiber. The doctor said that a high fiber diet would help lower cholesterol. I am all for high fiber now and have been on the hunt for products that have a high concentration of fiber and still taste good. CVS has made easy for me with the new Gold Emblem Abound line of products. I just grab these snacks every time that I am at CVS. My husband and daughter favor the Gold Emblem Abound Heavenly Light Popcorn and the bars. I love all of them and will go into detail on how I use and eat them below.

Granola

The Gold Emblem Abound Maple Pecan Granola has tons of uses and a whopping 29g of whole grains per serving and 3 grams of dietary fiber per serving. We love to mix the granola with yogurt and put it on top of salads. I keep some in my car so that I can just grab and a handful when I am on the go. This keeps me from going to fast food restaurants and overeating.

Here are some idea on how to use this fiber-packed granola to different recipes:

Mixed your granola with yogurt with fruit for breakfast.
Add the granola to a muffin recipe or bake it in bread.
Roll bananas in granola and freeze.
Top a salad with it.
Toss it with oatmeal for a crunchy twist
Add it to smoothies
Soften it up with heated milk and let sit. Then eat.
Use it as a breadcrumb to make crispy chicken.
Eat handfuls as a quick snack.

Milled Flax and Chia Seeds

I started drinking chia seeds a few years ago. It is an easy way to make water more fun. I get bored of drinking water…I know I’m awful, but it is true – water is boring to me! Chia seeds can absorb many times their weight in liquid so use a light hand unless you want to eat your water.

The Gold Emblem Abound Organic Milled Flax and Chia Seeds has 4g of fiber per tbsp. Whoa, that is awesomesauce.

Here are a few uses for chia and flax seed mix:

You can add the flax and chia mix to yogurt or pudding.
Add the Seed mix to water or smoothies.
Use them as a topping for salads or chicken.
Make them into pudding by soaking them in milk or water overnight and adding a sweetener in the morning.
Bake the seeds into muffins and bread.
Add them to jam or jelly to increase the fiber content of your spreadable.
Use them as breading. I swapped out flour for flaxseed recently and was pleased with the result. I need to try it more because I have not perfected it yet. Maybe a mix of flour and flax or try the flax and chia combo.

Heavenly Light Popcorn

The Gold Emblem Abound Heavenly Light Popcorn is a favorite in my house. I had to hide this bag to get a photo of it! LOL The small bags have 2 grams of fiber and only 80 calories per bag! It is the snack food to kick all snack food’s ass!

  5. Usually the thought of a high-fiber diet doesn’t sound very appealing, but with the ideas you mentioned, it actually sounds pretty good! You have some great ideas–I never even thought of something so simple as rolling a banana in granola and then freezing it. Thanks for that!
