Macy’s Fashion Rocks
Last week, I had the awesome opportunity to style the Macy’s Fashion Rocks fashion show at Boca Town Center. I chose pieces that paid homage to the trends, but were not slaves to them. These are real clothing choices for real women with busy lives. Michelle of Modern Boca Mom and I bantered about how to wear the outfits and my obsession with Michael Kors handbags. We had an amazing turn out at the store where we sipped mock-tails from the Farmer’s Table Boca and munched on star covered cupcakes from Jodi’s cupcakes.
Most people took awesome pics on their phone, but just in case you missed the fashion show and did not catch the social shares with hashtag #fashionrocks, I was lucky enough to have it photographed by Hope Kauffmann (follow her on Instagram @HKCameraFace) so that I could share it with my readers.
Heather of Local Mom Scoop, a local mom and blogger, is wearing INC jacket, Bar III top and Lucky Brand Jeans. Her bag is from Michael Kors as well. It has a strap and you can hold it by the handle if you are so inclined! This is especially helpful for nights out when you are multi-tasking and need both hands free at some point in the night.
Maria Serritella, April Golightly contributor is wearing a lace Karen Kane royal blue top over a Karen Kane tank that you can wear as a v-neck or scoup neck. The pants are faux leather from DKNY, the necklace is from Ralph Lauren, and the clutch is from Vince Camuto. I am dying over that clutch. The black and white is a splatter print cow-hide that reminds me of graffiti.
Maria is wearing my black and white shoes that I’ve had for a while. I found a few pairs that are similar from G by Guess and the other by Jessica Simpson.
Anca , fashion designer at Penny’s Dreamology is wearing Bar III top and pants. Who said florals are only spring? Dark florals are awesome for fall. They look great with the Michael Kors bucket bag and Calvin Klein faux leather jacket. Bucket bags are huge for fall and this one is definitely worth considering. It is very soft and spacious.
Shani is wearing Bar III top and bottom gem print that is a fun way to wear a body con outfit for a night out. Skirt the dress and go for top and bottom. If you want to layer it, you can add a white button down underneath. The little bag is from Ralph Lauren. It can be held with the small handles or with the long strap as a cross body bag. I like having the option of a strap. What can I say?!
Aileen from Newsy Parents wore a Rachael Roy dress with a Vince Camuto clutch. The clutch has a strap and I think it might be my go to clutch for eternity. It has a ton of room so you can fit lots of goodies in it! Hair brush, makeup, wallet, all of it! This bag goes with the majority of my closet and I have been searching for a good evening bag for a while! This one check off everything in my list: spacious, clutch, leopard, and strap option.
For workwear, I put Heather of local mom scoop in a top and skirt from Vince Camuto. The lace skirt gives it a little edge to a boring work wardrobe. This can be worn to the office with a cardigan like the one here by August Silk or a camel blazer if your office gets extremely cold or if you live in a cold climate. Of course, the Michael Kors quilted bag is the perfect work bag.
Anca of Penny’s Dreamology is wearing the hottest color for fall, blue! She is wearing scuba animal print dress by Karen Kane, the amazing Michael Kors trench, and extremely versatile Ralph Lauren basic black bag.
Aileen is dressed for casual Friday with INC petite jeans, Bar III top, and Karen Kane vest. I added some more color with a blue Michael Kors bag. I bought this vest immediately after the show and having been considering putting the bag on my Christmas wish list. I get compliments every time I wear that color so you cannot fight the love.
I wore a black scuba with sheer studded peekaboo panels Rachel Roy dress with these awesome earrings from her as well. The necklaces are from Vince Camuto and Kenneth Cole. Michelle aka Modern Boca Mom wore a Calvin Klein romper with Style & Co. earrings.
Courtney is wearing a basic black dress with a twist from Kensie and statement necklace and matching bracelets by Bar III.
Laurie of Femfessionals is wearing a petite Romper by INC. Here jewelry is INC as well except for the necklace which is BCBG. Love this necklace. I am considering getting it in silver and gold too!
Maria is wearing a red dress from Ralph Lauren that would look great from work to a night out. I matched it up with a houndstooth bag.
This is a great work to drinks look. The dress is from Calvin Klein and the bag is from Ralph Lauren.
Here is a list of most of the pieces from the show.
