I am hosting a book club party for my friends and would love to share Book Club Ideas to make the party fun for you and your guests. We are super excited to be working with Drinkworks® Home Bar by Keurig® to sponsor this post. Content for 21+ Please enjoy responsibly.
Book Club Ideas
Book Theme Party
When you are hosting a book club party, you can make decor, foods, and even drinks based on the book you are reading. For example, a Mint Julep for the Great Gatsby or Sex and the City book would go great with Cosmopolitans. Yes, Sex and the City was a book before it was a show. 😉
You can even dress up for your book club based on the theme. For The Great Gatsby, you can wear flapper dresses and clothes from the 1920s.
Book Club Drinks
You can theme your drinks for the party or set up a bar cart so that your book club guests can choose their own drink. I recently discovered the Drinkworks Home Bar by Keurig. It’s so cool!
You can offer all sorts of cocktails without having to stock a full bar. I am very excited to get some storage space back and give my guests options! They have over two dozen drinks available – spritzers, cocktails, ciders – and more on the way. The pods include only premium alcohol and mixers in each pod. My favorites are the Mojito and the Moscow Mule.
Drinkworks
Having a cocktail appliance makes hosting parties super easy because it is easy to use, affordable, and most importantly, delivers high-quality drinks that you’d expect to find at a bar or made at home.

Book Club Food
You can also theme your food based on the book you are reading. For the book, Water for Elephants, we made circus theme food like popcorn and elephant ears.
If you get too busy, you can also order food from your favorite restaurant. No one said you had to cook. LOL
You can also turn the book club meet up into a potluck. The host can send out an evite or Facebook event before you meet. You can ask the book club attendees to bring food and that you will have the drinks covered using your new Drinkworks Home Bar. This takes a ton of pressure off the host to do everything! I prefer this method because cleaning the home before and after the book club party can be stressful on its own.
Book Club Quiz & Prizes
You can find quizzes and questions for most books online. Sometimes the questions are in the back of the book itself.
In my book club, we use those questions to create a fun quiz. Then, the winners get to pick out prizes. The host usually provides one or 2 prizes for the winners.
Here are some ideas for book club prizes:
- Chocolate
- Jewelry
- Hair Accessories
- Books
- Makeup
As a blogger, I get lots of goodies that I love giving as gifts at my book club. If you subscribe to a box and get items that don’t suit you, this would be the perfect time to share the wealth. Also, gifts with purchase that you haven’t used is another great choice for prizes.
