It has been 7 days since I started the Weight Watchers Simple Start Program and I glad to say that I am walking more and eating better. I’ve been cooking almost everyday for the household and my fridge is filled with good veggies and yummy foods.

It really is not fair how quickly babies grow up once they are out of your belly. It feels like just yesterday that I brought my little (not so little at 9 pounds 2 ounces) daughter home from the hospital. She is now ready to start eating real food and of course, with eating real food comes purchasing baby gear like highchairs, bowls, spoons, and bibs.
We started feeding my daughter solids at 6 months from the Joovy HiLo Highchair. Joovy is a American company that is family-run business! How rare is that these days!? All the Joovy designs are contemporary and functional. The simplistic design of the HiLo Highchair does not make me feel like the baby has taken over my dining room as well as every other room in the house. It is amazingly functional as well.

I recently met up with fellow fashionista and blogger, Aileen of Newsy Parents at Sage French Cafe in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sage has a french winery interior with dark wood, exposed bricks and cranberry red accents. It reminded me of days gone by, when I spent the majority of my time studying in a french cafe in Miami. It is time to spread the love with Valentine’s Cards! Last week, I was starving and I ordered pizza and canolli from an app on my phone. I was also not feeling great and decided to try out another convenience app from Walgreens that provides pharmacy chat that allows you to chat with a pharmacist without having to go to the pharmacy. It is a great way to skip lines and avoid other sick people so that I can spend as much healthy time with my daughter as possible.

Here we are opening gifts on Christmas with the family. As I said in my last post, my mom’s cell phone is on it’s last leg and I wanted to give her a gift that keeps her connected with her family. As you can see, she loved it! I put it in the same box as a picture frame for her granddaughter’s first Christmas picture.

Recently, I was lucky enough to sit down with Adam Glassman, Creative Director of O, The Oprah Magazine. Love and want all of Oprah’s favorite things? Adam helps pick them out. I interviewed Mr. Glassman at Lord & Taylor‘s new store in Boca Raton, Florida the day before his personal appearance where he met and took photos with South Floridians as well as presented holiday and gift giving trends and ideas.
Adam is a hardworking Creative Director, working on 3 magazine issues at a time with a tight schedule, but on the surface you would never know it, as he spent over an hour chatting with me. He couldn’t have been more laid back, and was just such a sweet, genuinely nice guy. Before the interview, I was a casual reader of O Magazine. After meeting Mr. Glassman, I am a subscriber and devoted reader. Did I mention how stylish he is? His sweater, tie and button down combo with his monogram camo bag look fabulous together. How awesome is social media? As a lover of all things fashion, I think it just the coolest thing to be able to connect to my favorite designers and fashionistas on Twitter and Facebook. For example, I recently interviewed Kenneth Cole for South Florida Opulence Magazine and after that we started following each other on Twitter. It brightens my day when I see that my readers like something that I have written by liking it on Facebook, retweeting, and pinning on Pinterest.
