Geek and Gamer Gift Guide

Sharing is caring!

Hi there! Kevin here. April asked me to put together a gift guide for those that have similar tastes to my own, which is exceptionally geeky and gamer-y. With the holiday season fast approaching use this guide as a way to get the geeky guy or gal the gift that they are truly gracious about! (Awful alliteration, always. Isn’t that how it goes?)

Video Games Galore!

Nothing garners excitement  quite like getting a gaming system for a present. Here are some options for the gamer in your life that is still stuck in the last console generation.

If they are interested in Sony exclusive titles like Uncharted, then there is an obvious choice: PlayStation 4 500GB Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Bundle. It includes all the Uncharted games so far! If your looking for something more Sci-Fi themed, there is also the Battlefront Bundle for the PS4.

Fallout 4For the Microsoft inclined there is also the Fallout 4 Xbox Bundle! I’m so excited to get my hands on Fallout 4 in a few weeks.

For the Nintendo Wii U, Super Mario Maker has become extremely popular. A game in which users challenge themselves to create the most unique, creative, and intense Super Mario levels. I love it, and so will the Nintendo geek in your life.

If you are looking to supply someone with a Gaming PC, but don’t want to break the bank, it’s worth checking out this offering from Asus.

Toys!BB-8 Gift

My excitement for the new Star Wars is obnoxious. So of course I’m going to reccommend getting the Star Wars geek in your life the Sphero BB-8 App-Enabled Droid. BB-8 is the little soccerball looking droid that can be seen in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer.

And while we are on the topic of Star Wars, this Millennium Falcon drone is ahhhh-mazing.

For something less electronic and more traditional, the Funko Pop Dolls are great, especially this one of  Dancing Groot.

Books!

ready-player-oneA few years ago I read Ready Player One and it became one of my favorite books of all time. Steven Spielberg is now set to direct the film version, so it is perfect timing to buy the book!

Ernest Cline, the author of Ready Player One, recently published his second novel titled Armada. I have not read it yet, however, the reviews are glowing!

Staying on the SciFi line, The Martian which was recently a feature film starring Matt Damon is also a great story of survival in an inhospitable environment.

Movies!

Tying into my list of video games earlier, a great movie about video games and the process of making independent games is Indie Game: The Movie. Highly reccommended for anyone who ant-manis into behind-the-scenes stuff or video game culture in general.

Ant-Man was my favorite tent-pole film of the summer, and it’s available for pre-order now. I’m a special-features kinda guy so I recommend getting the full package!
