Healthy snacking is just as important for the little ones as it is for adults. Of course, we always think that those growing little weeds that our are children can pretty much eat anything, but wouldn’t it be so much better to give them something good? Well. Let’s make it happen!

Tips for Healthy Snacking for the Bay-bahs

I love to give my daughter healthy snacks. I do not want to fall into the trap of giving her sweets and then have her asking for ONLY cookies or some other sweet. Of course, on special occasions I give her the horribly delicious stuff, but on a daily basis, I try to make healthy snacking the norm. Here are some of my favorite go to’s for her.

Veggies with Ranch

Believe it or not, my little girl loves her veggies. However, they must be accompanied by ranch dressing. Okay, okay. I know ranch isn’t the greatest, HOWEVER, it gets her to eat carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, celery, and other things that most kids won’t touch!

Granola

Granola is practically tailor made to give children something healthy. It’s packed full of complex carbs from the granola, healthy fats from the nuts, and just the right amount of sweet goodness. My daughter thinks they’re candy bars!

Hard Boiled Eggs

Hard boiled eggs are great for healthy snacking. They’re easy for the kids to eat, and they’re full of protein. They’re also the most bioavailable protein source out there. My daughter and I love to have these together.

Apples and Cheese

Apples and cheese go together like peanut butter and jelly. My daughter loves a few slices of a nice crispy apple with a few slices of mild cheddar cheese.

Gerber Lil’ Beanies

One of my favorite go to’s for healthy snacking is Gerber Lil’ Beanies. They are full of healthy stuff that I love and a taste my daughter loves. Made with Navy Beans, these Lil’ Beanies have 2g or protein per serving, as well as 1g of fiber, and 10% of her daily value of vitamin E. They’re non-GMO and contain no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

Healthy Snacking for Better Health Now and Later

I love encouraging healthy snacking in my daughter. I know it’s better for her health now than a bunch of sweets. Even more importantly, though, I know that it’s encouraging her to eat better foods later in life as well.

If you want to encourage healthy snacking in your kids, try some of the above suggestions. They’re all a hit with daughter. And if you want to give Gerber Lil’ Beanies a try, head to your local Publix. They’re always there, and they’re always at a great price and you can get an extra deal on them with this Ibotta Offer.
