About 2 years ago, my husband and I decided that I would stop practicing law full time and start focusing on the blog and being a mom. This has made me a happier person because I have been able to realize my dream of being home to raise my daughter. However, it has made things a little tighter than we were used to financially. We have learned a few ways to saving money when shopping for everyday things that we need.

First, we subscribe to a few items on Amazon where we receive 20% off subscription items like diapers, wipes, cereal, paper towels, vitamins, and toilet paper. We chose these large items that we use every month because they are bulky and it makes weekly shopping trips to the grocery store much easier.

I downloaded coupon apps like Cartwheel, Retail Me Not and Shop Your Way.  You can check for coupons while you are in the stores. I prefer to do it this way so the coupons do not determine where I shop or push me to make purchase I would not normally make. Also, always ask the sales associate if there are any coupons or discounts that are going on that you could use to save extra money. They might have one sitting behind the counter.

Then, I save time and money by looking for items online rather than going from store to store searching for them. Also, if I am in the store I am more likely to purchase items I do no need. Shopping online can save time and money as you can stay focused.
