As a video guy I need to have a TV that displays the picture in perfect quality. April has long rolled her eyes at my need to put everything on HD when possible, but I maintain that it’s important to watch the picture in the best possible setting. Now just in time for #hintingseason, LG has released an OLED tv that is available to purchase at Best Buy!
What is OLED TV?
You, gentle reader, are probably wondering what an OLED TV is, and what’s the difference between this, and other types of televisions? Well I’m here to tell you. OLED, without getting too technical, simply stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, or Organic LED. I am sure all of you are familiar with LED TVs by this point.
LG’s OLED TV is a marvel of engineering. It’s only 0.21″ thick at its thinnest point, which is thinner then your average smartphone! That’s thinner than a typical #2 pencil. Mind blowing.
Amazing, right? The picture has an infinite contrast ratio allowing you as the viewer, able to see the brightest whites and deepest blacks without any odd artifacting. And with the 4 Color Pixel technology this TV will deliver bright and vibrant colors.
This TV also continues the ingenious trend of curved TV’s which provide for a more cinematic experience in your home theater. The built in webOS system allows you to watch Netflix and other web streaming services without the need for any other connections to your television set.
You can purchase the LG’s OLED TV at Best Buy’s everyday price of $3499.99 (save $500).
