This is a fun, quick and super affordable dinosaur costume for Halloween or just to dress up for kids. It is inspired by the new Disney movie coming out called The Good Dinosaur. I saw a clip of it at the D23Expo and shed a few tears. It is an adorable movie that I know my daughter is going to love!

Tools & Supplies

Hoodie jacket (here is a green hoodie if you want to go all green)
4 green felt pieces
pillow stuffing
tacky glue
scissors

How to Make The Good Dinosaur Costume

Step 1: Cut both sleeves off and cut both cuffs off. Then using one of the sleeves, cut a diagonal line. The sleeves are going to be the dinosaur tail.

Step 2: Take the diagonal piece and glue it closed. Leave the top open for the stuffing. This is the bottom of the tail.

Step 3: Glue the top of the tail to the bottom of the tail. From the picture below the piece on the left is the top of the tail, the piece on the right is the bottom of the tail.

Step 4: While the tail is drying, begin making the spikes. Glue two pieces of felt together making different size triangle shapes. Smaller pieces for the top of the head and the bottom of the tail. Larger pieces in the middle. Don’t glue all the way down the bottom, leave a little space at the bottom as in the picture below.

Step 5: Open the slit at the bottom of the spike and begin gluing them onto the tail.

Step 6: Fold the hoodie and lay on its side. Begin gluing the spikes down the back.

Step 7: While the spikes on the hoodie are drying, begin stuffing the tail. When you finish stuffing, glue the top of the tail closed, leaving a little space on top.
