My Little Pony is a series that the entire family can get on board for. It is one of the rare shows that both my husband and I actually watch with my daughter. It’s funny and wholesome at the same time, and the music is fantastic! You cannot beat a central theme like Friendship is Magic!
When I heard that the Ponies were hitting the big screen with My Little Pony: The Movie this Friday (October 6), I immediately bought tickets for the entire family. If you watch the trailer, you’ll see that the main characters become SeaPonies. My daughter is obsessed with mermaids so this the perfect merging of her favorite things. Check it out below!
The new movie has tons of new characters with amazing voice actors outside the regular gang of ponies. Joining the new story is Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Michael Peña, Sia, Taye Diggs, Uzo Aduba and Zoe Saldana. The movie features original music and songs performed by Sia, Diggs, Saldana, Chenoweth and Blunt.
Twilight Sparkle Inspired Hair Tutorial
To celebrate My Little Pony: The Movie coming to theaters, I styled some Twilight Sparkle inspired hair. Fun for adults and kids, especially since Halloween is right around the corner! I ordered a large weft of ombre pink to purple hair. You can grab the hair on Amazon.
First start by brushing out your hair so that it is free of knots. If you have curly hair, you might want to straighten it.
Then, I parted my hair on the side and clipped the hair down the middle of the part starting about an inch back from my forehead.
I pulled the shorter side of the hair to cover the seam of the hair extension. I fanned out the hair a bit to make sure it was concealed. You might need a few tiny bobby pins if you have thin hair. If it is not covering easily, remove the clip in extension and re-part your hair so that there is more hair on the side that you are using to cover the extension.
Gather the hair into a side ponytail and secure with a band. Clear works the best, but pink or purple works too.
Split the hair in the ponytail down the middle.
Take a small strand from the outside of the left section and pull it to the inside of the right section. Then, repeat on the right side. Make sure to alternate sides until you reach the end of the hair or close to the end.
Tie off the end and lightly pull on the braid to make it larger. Tuck in any of your real hair that might be poking out.
Ever wonder how to try out grey hair for a week to see if you would like it? Check out the picture of the week I had grey hair.
Make plans to see My Little Pony: The Movie with your family, in theaters October 6. Purchase tickets here and follow along on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
