Summer is still hanging around South Florida even though I am dying to get break out my fall wardrobe. When dressing for Tastemakers in Mizner Park, you should fight the urge to dress for fall and wear something summery instead! I went around to the restaurants tasting the food for a media event last week with this summery dress and wedges. Check out my review of the upcoming Tastemaker’s food and drink pairings here. What to Wear to Tastemakers

I brought a pair of flip flops in my bag just in case my feet did not hold up to the walking. If you plan on going to Tastemakers both nights, then heels are fine as you don’t have to walk that much. We went to almost all the restaurants in one night and after 7, I had to change to flip flops. I think if you section off the event based on the locations of restaurants, you’ll be able to wear heels. I plan to wear small heels at least one of the nights. The second night I will be wearing flip flops. Stylish flip flops, but flip flops all the same. As a full-time Florida resident, flip flops are a staple footwear! I cannot live without them!

I am wearing white dress because it is still summer and I know by mid-fall, I will be longing for a summery white dress and white sandals. I will be breaking the fashion rule ‘no white after Labor Day’, but I live in South Florida and that rule does not work here! Also, I am taking my cues from the NYFW runway designers. They were showing stark white for fall. I applaud them!

    • Rules were made to be broken, especially in Florida. I usually like to wear an off white or winter white after Labor Day. Either way, don’t worry about rules Bee. 🙂

      • The fashion “rules” don’t apply anymore and especially not here in Florida! We barely have seasons and the ones we do have are only felt by year-round residents!
